Friday night, I went to pansol together with elbi officefriends for a friend's despedida. It was already raining then but that didn't stop us from going. We reached pansol very late in the evening. Rain was pouring non-stop all night until the time we went home the next day. Since I didn't sleep the whole night, I immediately went to bed when I got home. My original plan was to sleep until 2pm and go back to makati since I have to meet friends and stay in our place for the run sunday morning. Indeed, I woke up by 2pm, but everything was craaaazy. Mom woke me up, told me flood's nearing our house. I had to be alert and all. I looked outside, flood was already knee-deep. Some of the water/mud got through our house. I kept on praying it won't go so much as high that it would damage any of our belongings. Good thing it didn't. Thank you God.
Mom cleaned the sala, I cleaned the room. We kept on calling ate. She just came from a trip and was supposed to fly again for another one. Mom insisted she doesn't go anymore. She didn't and good thing her flight was cancelled. So we were in the house cleaning, and ate got stuck in the airport for 13 hours.
I was complaining for there was no water supply. I was complaining because for several hours, there was no electricity. I was complaining for when electricity was restored, there was no cable. I was complaining for I had to clean the mud that got through.
And then I learned what was happening outside -- on the road outside our subdivision, in the nearby barangays, family who got stuck in slex traffic, friends whose homes were really flooded, people in Marikina and QC, evacuees everywhere, properties destroyed, practically lifetime savings that went away with the flood.
Who am I to complain?
